Hi folks,

Be intrigued, take a look at  http://communities.vmware.com/message/2165823

Try deleting the following file from Tools to disable the Unity functionality, and then restart Windows:

C:\Program Files\VMware\VMware Tools\plugins\vmusr\unity.dll

The rest of Tools features such as resolution changing and copy+paste should continue to work even without the Unity plugin.

By deleting the file be interesting to see if you still get reports of failures in the event logs.
