I have a Fusion 5 vm running Windows 7 64 bit on my 15in Retina MacBook Pro (16GB) with Mountain Lion. I can happily invoke Windows apps by clicking on files in the Mac Finder (eg I can invoke Word by clicking on a Word .docx file. In fact everything seems to be fine EXCEPT for a Java app I have.
The app (7Edit.exe) is from a commercial supplier and works fine in the Windows VM but the Mac Applications folder looks like it only sees the underlying JAVA runtime - all you get in the Applications folder on the Mac is a reference to "Java(TM) SE Binary.app".
If you use the Open with . . option to open a file with this app, nothing appears to happen (I suspect it tries to invoke the Java runtime in the VM . . . not the installed .exe.
Does anyone know how to configure the Mac / Fusion so that you can invoke this type of Java application?
