The image below shows what by default one should see. If you don't see these then either VMware Workstation didn't install properly or something else has changes or it not functioning properly. BTW VMware WSX Service may not show by default and it shows on mine because I installed it.

Just use the Virtual Network Editor to set VMnet2 as shown in the image below and use it like that. (Change the IP Address as needed.)
