VMware Player is an Application that runs on a Host Computer and one installs an OS in VMware Player. Then one can install Applications in the Guest OS and it is done basically the same way as if the OS was running natively on physical hardware so act accordingly. In other words, download the OS appropriate ICQ instant messaging client to the Guest OS and follow the installation directions provided at ICQ's website.
