I'm trying to install vCenter SSO as part of a vCenter Server 5.1 installation package. I've read, re-read, and even followed third-party installation guides. My setup meets the requirements for a vCenter install. Whenever I try to install vCenter SSO, I get this error message but only when I use the hostname, not the IP. If I use the IP, other errors appear such as not being able to resolve the directory, but SSO installs. Using the FQDN of the server during the install, it fails.
Installing on a Server 2008 R2 box. FQDN is v_srv03.johndball.com
Using SQL Server 2008 R2 with SP2. Database is configured correctly for SSO.
Installing SSO service using administrator account (also tried using an account dedicated for vmware services called "vmwareservice" which is granted the necessary logon permissions).
Any ideas?
