The Dell Server that I use have 2 onboard NIC's that are Broadcom NetXtreme II BCM5709 1000Base-T
and additional 2 port Intel Corporation Ethernet Controller 10 Gigabit X540-AT2
I did not compile any drivers on the system. The ESXi 5.1 recognized everything that was on there.
