I consistently experience that WS9 stops updating the guest console display as well as the entire UI when in Full Screen mode (for example, the slide down control bar does not 'slide down'). This always occurs after the Win8 host enters lockscreen and then is unlocked.
I have noticed two additional effects:
- When the (host) mouse is hovered over the (host) tray where the WS9 Icon is active and the tile views are show, the tile views are in fact correct. Fast switching between the tile views does not change what is shown in WS9, however.
- If WS9 is not in Full Screen mode, the non-client area controls (e.g. the titlebar controls) do function. Minimizing the WS9 window and then restoring it results in the system now showing the correct window contents.
It is important to note that this is not just effecting the guest console portion of the WS9 UI. It effects all non-client areas as well. The same thing seems to happen even when no VM is running.
This makes it very painful to work with Full Screen mode since on return from Lock Screen, one must futz around to get out of Full Screen, minimize & restore the UI, etc. to get the WS9 UI to function again. On a positive note, it seems as though Unit works just fine - or at least I have not observed any issue with it.
WS9 did not exhibit this behavior on Win7 on this same machine (it was upgraded to Win8).
Because the quick view (tiles) in the tray seem to always be the 'correct' rendering, I suspect that WS9 is having some wierd interaction with the window manager in Win8 and some unintended effect occurs when the lockscreen entry/exit is triggered.
Anyone else seeing this?
