Oh I see, I do appreciate the link but I am already aware that I can install the tools update manually. The main issue I am having is that VMware Player is not able to check for program or VMware tool updates automatically using the update manager.
The fact that an uninstall/reinstall does not fix the problem is a bit worrying to me. I think it is a little rediculous to just stop using the update manager feature and declare it permanently broken on all of my systems.
Maybe there is a VMware Player remove tool available, would you know? Because obvioulsy some regestry keys or files are being left behind after the uninstall that are carrying over the faulty URL path to the fresh installation. It would be a real pain to now have to start sifting through the registry and program files on all my PCs for leftover VMware files to get this resolved.
Anyone else have any ideas?
