I want to use 2 IBM servers as esxi hosts in a cluster:
CPU - 2 x 2.53 Ghz Quad-core Xeon - E5630 it supports 1066 MHz RDIMMS
CPU – 2 x 2.60 Ghz Xeon 8-Core Xeon E5 it supports 1600 MHz 1600 RDIMMS
Will the different clock speed affect performence?
Whats the maximum memory recommandations for each server?
The other thing to consider in your case, if you are clustering these two hosts, is the discrepancy in the number of cores between the two servers. When calculating available capacity in the cluster for a failover, vSphere HA will base the available number of slots on the server that has the least number of cores (in other words, to protect your cluster from the largest host failing). If you are using HA with admission control, you are likely going to run into issues powering on new VM's or with HA restarting VMs down the road.
