Re: Lock network source to a VM?

I am using 5.0.3 on my MBP with Win8 x64 and would like to do the following:

1. lock the ethernet connection to my Win8 VM so that only it can use it

2. use wifi for my OS X host and have that network source not available to the VM

Is this possible in Fusion?

In OS X Network System Preferences set the Service Order so AirPort is above Ethernet.

In OS X Ethernet Network System Preferences set the IP Address to DHCP using manual address and assign a 169.254.x.x/16 IP Address.

In VMware Fusion Guest's Network Adapter set to Bridged and bind it to Ethernet.

This will allow OS X to only use the AirPort and the Virtual Machine to only use the Ethernet.

I think this is something may be supported in Parallels.

Doesn't really matter what can be done in Parallels since this is the discussion forum for VMware Fusion!
