I would like to seek your expertise on checking the issue with my nested 5.1 ESXi. I was able to install nested ESXi host but I can't boot a x64 VMs. I keeps on prompting me the following:
Intel Core i7-3770 CPU @ 3.40GHz
DH77EB
EBH7710H.86A.0100.2013.0312.1351
Virtualization / VT-x is already enabled in the BIOS.
Disable Bit is also Enabled.
checked the physical host and NestedHVSupported set to TRUE
added vhv.enable = "true" on the physical host's \etc\vmware\config
created Nested ESXi VM
initial OS is Others 64bit
once VM is created, I changed the OS to VMware ESXi 5.x (experimental)
NX/XD flag is already set to Expose
added ---- ---- ---- ---- ---- ---- --H- ---- on CPU mask; ECX
added the following on the nested ESXi's vmx file:
monitor.virtual_mmu = "hardware"
monitor.virtual_exec = "hardware"
vhv.enable = "true"
monitor_control.restrict_backdoor = "true"
