Hi WoodyZ
So I tried what you mention in your last post, but I used the Ubuntu 12.4 ISO image I have. I set the RAM to 1GB and use a 1 core CPU at 2.80GB, everything else Ieft it default. Unfortunatly it rebooted the host system, the same as I was installing Windows 8. Then I try again with my "legit" copy of Windows XP SP 3 CD (same CD I use to install the Win XP OS on the host ) using the same hardware setting as the Ubuntu machine, and get the same results. Then I create another VM Machine, but set the Hardware Compatibility to Workstation 6.5-7.x. see if this does makes a difference. When I started the VM machine I saw the VMware logo, with the Fkeys options, and it pass that ok, but when it try to read the CD , the whole host system reboots. I talk to some of my colleagues at work, the suggest that I could remove VMWare 9.01, and try VMWare 7 or 8 version?
What do you think
