I would like to have Internet available on the VM's as they will need to have Windows Updates applied periodically.
Ok so following the information you posted I have done the folowing to my machines. The host has not changed.
Ethernet adapter VMware Network Adapter VMnet1:

On the Windows 7 Utlimate vm I have set the Newtword Adapter type to NAT
On the Windows 7 Ultimate guest operating system i have put the following configuration
With these settings I can connect to the internet, I can ping the VMnet1 adapter.

On the Windows Server 2003 Enterprise guest operating system i have put the following configuration
With these settings I can connect to the internet, I can ping the VMnet1 adapter.

So they should be able to communicate now as they are both on the same subnet correct?
However when I ping the Windows Server 2003 Entrprise vm from the Windows 7 Ultimate vm I get Destination Host unreachable.
