OK, now I'm even more baffled because this morning it's working correctly. The only thing different from yesterday is that I shut down my computer at the end of the work day and when I turned it on this morning, brought up Fusion and the guest OS, it had picked up the assigned IP and the connection worked as it's suppossed to.
There was nothing in any of the instructions I found that said I needed to reboot the host OS. So, any idea why it's working now but would before even though I killed and restarted the Fusion app several times yesterday?
