vMotion and EVC

Hi, All

I want to ask a question if someone can help .

the question is if  vMotion can be done when EVC mode is disabled.

the platform is vShpere 5.1 ,ESXi 5.1 , no shared storage.

the root cause is current cluster is on "Intel Nehalm Generation" EVC mode , and we would like to add a lower generation CPU SERVER

so what we think is to disable EVC mode , add the server , then enable EVC mode again ( to "Intel Penryn Generation" )

to avoid reboot the VMs current is running
