Thanks for the help.

Here is the info, as you can see there are 2 physical ethernet adapters/nics.

~ # lspci
00:00:00.0 Bridge: Intel Corporation Ivy Bridge DRAM Controller
00:00:19.0 Network controller: Intel Corporation 82579LM Gigabit Network Connection
00:00:1a.0 Serial bus controller: Intel Corporation 6 Series/C200 Series Chipset Family USB Enhanced Host Controller #2
00:00:1c.0 Bridge: Intel Corporation 6 Series/C200 Series Chipset Family PCI Express Root Port 1 [PCIe RP[00:00:1c.0]]
00:00:1c.4 Bridge: Intel Corporation 6 Series/C200 Series Chipset Family PCI Express Root Port 5 [PCIe RP[00:00:1c.4]]
00:00:1d.0 Serial bus controller: Intel Corporation 6 Series/C200 Series Chipset Family USB Enhanced Host Controller #1
00:00:1e.0 Bridge: Intel Corporation 82801 PCI Bridge
00:00:1f.0 Bridge: Intel Corporation C202 Chipset Family LPC Controller
00:00:1f.2 Mass storage controller: Intel Corporation Cougar Point 6 port SATA AHCI Controller [vmhba0]
00:00:1f.3 Serial bus controller: Intel Corporation 6 Series/C200 Series Chipset Family SMBus Controller
00:02:00.0 Network controller: Intel Corporation 82574L Gigabit Network Connection [vmnic0]
00:03:03.0 Display controller: Matrox Graphics, Inc. MGA G200eW WPCM450

But only one is vmnic0, other is not recognized.

The first nic, which is vmnic0 is the one present in default vswtich in ESXi which i am using for management.

This is ESXi 5.1.0, and not sure why its not translating the second nic as vmnic1.

Thanks
