VMware Workstation 9 on Ubuntu 12.10

Hello everyone,

I am having trouble running VMware Workstation 9 on Ubuntu 12.10.

After successfully installing it, at run time, the following error appears:

The VMware Tools kernel modules could not be automatically rebuilt.
Please manually run:
vmware-config-tools.pl --modules-only
To rebuild them.

In an attempt to fix this problem, I am getting the following extra errors:

sudo sh /usr/bin/vmware-config-tools.pl

/usr/bin/vmware-config-tools.pl: 8: /usr/bin/vmware-config-tools.pl: use: not found

/usr/bin/vmware-config-tools.pl: 23: /usr/bin/vmware-config-tools.pl: use: not found

/usr/bin/vmware-config-tools.pl: 24: /usr/bin/vmware-config-tools.pl: package: not found

/usr/bin/vmware-config-tools.pl: 26: /usr/bin/vmware-config-tools.pl: my: not found

/usr/bin/vmware-config-tools.pl: 30: /usr/bin/vmware-config-tools.pl: Syntax error: "(" unexpected

Please advice.

Thank you!

Regards,

Mihai Barbulescu
