Hi all,
I installed ESXi 5.1 on a late 2012 Macmini (4GB+1TB+core i7), but the virtual machines run quite slow and have no sound:
- WindowServer 2008: no sound, screen size is OK: 1280x800
- MacOS X Lion: no sound, sreen size only 1024x768
- Window XP: no sound, screen size is OK: 1280x800
And the most problem is the VM run very slow if there is 2 VM running, I known that I need to increase RAM to 16GB, but I guess the real problem is not RAM because I monitoring the memory resource in VMs and did not see any Page outs locate.
So what do you think the real problem is harddisk bottle neck? Do I need to invest in SCSI or iSCSI disk? What is the most favourable and economic solution could use with Macmini+ESXi?
My purpose is to use Macmini to run 1 WindowServer 2008 (light load only - for testing purpose) with 2 MacOS X Lion virtual machines with normal office works like web viewing, microsoft office, email ... every day.
Any suggestion is very appreciate!
Thanks for your time!
