Since you are using 3TB drives, you are using the disks most prone to failure and I would tend to agree.
Assuming you have the battery of flash backed write cache, your hardware will overcome the majority of the performance difference.
RAID10 stock performs significantly slower than RAID6 with a FBWC on this hardware. Yet you can guarantee someone will chime in and tell you what trouble you're on for
