The first thing I'd suggest you do, if you haven't already, is read Chapter 5 Configuring Network Connections in Using VMware Workstation so as to have a good understanding of the VMware Virtual Network Infrastructure. Then configure the Virtual Machine's Network Adapter as either Bridged or NAT based on your needs and if you use Bridged and the Host has 2 or more active physical network adapters then use the Virtual Network Editor to disable automatic bridging on VMnet0 and select the WiFi NIC. If you use NAT it shouldn't matter and is suposed to work out-of-the-box, so to speak.
